President Dr. Irfaan Ali embarked on a listening mission to Batavia, Region Seven, where he engaged with residents to understand their new challenges and assess the progress made since his last visit.

The meeting, which included representatives from communities such as Itabali and Kartabo, focused on addressing local concerns and advancing development initiatives.

Residents and community leaders expressed satisfaction, reporting that 100% of the commitments made by the President during his previous visit had been fulfilled.

Encouraged by this feedback, President Ali turned his attention to addressing further concerns and requests for the development of the Region Seven communities.

Among the requests made was the expansion of land for logging purposes.

In response, President Ali directed the Forestry Commission to intervene and identify suitable areas for this purpose, demonstrating a commitment to supporting the region’s economic activities.

Additionally, there were calls for more training opportunities for young people in agriculture, specifically in honey production.

President Ali acknowledged this need and emphasized the importance of providing necessary resources to enable the growth of the agricultural sector.

In response to requests from other communities, President Ali pledged immediate support, including the provision of a tractor, trailer, and implements to Itabali.

Furthermore, plans were set in motion for the construction of roads and bridges in Kartabo, along with the provision of animals for pig rearing and a solar freezer to support poultry production.

President Ali reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in these communities to foster prosperity and enhance residents’ quality of life.

He assured that all commitments made during the visit would be fulfilled within the next 30 days, underscoring the administration’s dedication to tangible and timely action.

As President Ali continues to engage with communities across Guyana, his listening mission in Region Seven exemplifies his administration’s proactive approach to addressing local needs and advancing inclusive development.
