Traffic Chief Urges Caution on Newly Opened Conversation Tree Road

October 15, 2024

Traffic Chief Senior Superintendent Mahendra Singh is urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road signage on the newly opened Conversation Tree Road and Four-lane Delhi Street thoroughfare.

Following a series of minor accidents and one serious incident, Singh highlighted the importance of proper driving behavior to ensure safety on these roads, which are intended to ease traffic flow in the area.

As part of a broader traffic sensitization campaign, the Traffic Department will focus on increasing public awareness regarding the proper use of the Conversation Tree Road, which now extends to Lamaha Street.

Singh explained that there have been incidents where drivers continue to use the southbound double lane for both north and southbound traffic, despite clear road markings indicating otherwise.

While some concerns have been raised about the adequacy of road signage, Singh emphasized that the existing signage forms part of the driver’s test to obtain a license.

He further assured the public that the Traffic Department will install additional signs by the end of the week.

Singh urged drivers to be more mindful, as the road has been designed with proper markings and signage to ensure safer travel.

He stressed that using the road with care and caution is essential to preventing accidents and promoting overall road safety for all users.

In the meantime, Sergeant Michael Lyte of the Traffic Department advised drivers to be especially vigilant for pedestrians, including school children, in the area, particularly during peak hours.

Mobile patrols will also be deployed to monitor compliance with traffic regulations.

The Conversation Tree Road and Delhi Street are part of the government’s broader initiative to improve traffic flow and connectivity across communities in the country.
