Guyanese musician Matussala Mannings, founder of Reggae Kingdom, is set to host a concert titled “September to Remember: King Mandela and Friends,” dedicated to celebrating and promoting local talent.
Established two years ago, the concert aims to showcase both emerging and established Guyanese artists while highlighting Mannings’ own work.
This event is part of a broader effort to promote Guyanese culture and creativity.
Mannings expressed his hope that this concert would serve as a catalyst for the growth of Reggae Kingdom and provide a platform for local artists to earn income, not only from this event but in future annual concerts.
He also announced plans for a tour across various regions in Guyana, further supporting local talent.
In addition to featuring reggae performances, the concert will honor Amerindian Heritage Month by showcasing Amerindian artists.
Mannings emphasized that attendees can expect a diverse range of performances, with opportunities to discover new talent and witness the growth of local artists.
The “September to Remember” concert will take place on Saturday, September 28, at the Linden Car Park, starting at 5 PM.
The lineup includes performances by notable Guyanese artists such as First Born, Alabama, Mark Batson, and Ilambi.
Admission to the concert is free, inviting the community to join in this celebration of music and culture.
