WE LIFT 4: Empowering Women and Showcasing Entrepreneurship

By Fabiana Mcklmon

WE LIFT, an event dedicated to empowering women and showcasing entrepreneurship, is set to return for its fourth edition on April 20 and 21 at the National Aquatic Center.

This year’s event promises to provide a creative, safe, and encouraging space for women from across the country.

The fourth edition of WE LIFT aims to highlight the creativity, business skills, and innovation of women entrepreneurs.

Attendees can expect to find a diverse range of businesses, services, and offerings, including arts, crafts, construction, design, and much more.

Dr. Vindhya Persaud, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, emphasized the significance of the event, stating that it presents an excellent opportunity for women to showcase their businesses.

With 250 female entrepreneurs expected to exhibit their businesses, Dr. Persaud anticipates that many women will benefit from this opportunity, whether it’s starting up, expanding, or sustaining their businesses.

Corporate Guyana is lending its support to WE LIFT, with nine million dollars handed over to the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security. Pamela O’Toole, Director of Nations INC, highlighted their ongoing support for the initiative, expressing excitement about both familiar and new faces participating in the event.

Ryan Hoppie, Communications Relations Advisor at Exxon Mobil, reiterated their commitment to empowering women through their partnership with WE LIFT.

Demerara Bank will also be offering its “DBL Women of Worth” promotion during the event, providing credit financing for educational programs, retirement plans, and investment plans.

Women will have access to financing with a lowered interest rate of eight percent and waived processing fees for loans.

WE LIFT 4 promises to be a platform for women to network, showcase their businesses, and access valuable opportunities for growth and empowerment.
