Chase Academy and Waramuri Secure Spots in Milo Finals

In a display of formidable talent and determination, defending champions Chase Academy and region 1’s Waramuri Secondary have clinched their spots in the finals of the Milo schools’ football u18 championship.

Chase Academy, last year’s undefeated champions, continued their impressive form by defeating President’s College with a commanding 4-0 victory.

Bryan Wharton opened the scoring for Chase in the 15th minute, followed by Justin Alcindor extending the lead in the 19th minute.

Despite President’s College’s defensive efforts, Chase maintained their dominance, with Omar Sam and Shaquan David adding two more goals in the second half.

On the other hand, Waramuri Secondary faced a tough challenge against Dolphin Secondary in the semifinals.

After Dolphin took a 2-0 lead in the first half, Waramuri staged a remarkable comeback in the second half with goals from Zundel Abrams and Odell Holmes, leveling the score at 2-2.

With no winner decided in regulation time or extra time, Waramuri secured their place in the final with a nerve-wracking 4-3 victory in the penalty shootout.

Both teams will now face off in the final showdown on Sunday at the CARFESTA Avenue Ground, promising an exciting clash between two formidable opponents.

With their eyes set on the championship title, Chase Academy and Waramuri Secondary are poised to deliver a thrilling finale to the Milo schools’ football tournament, showcasing the immense talent and competitive spirit of Guyana’s young footballers.
