The World Bank has approved six million U.S. dollars in additional financing for Guyana’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Project.
This will support affordable and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines, effective vaccine deployment and preparedness to tackle future emergencies.
Resident Representative, Ozan Sevimli says the World Bank is closely coordinating with development partners and Government to support the vaccination campaign and long term improvements to this country’s healthcare system.
Five million US dollars of the additional financing comes from the International Development Association (IDA).
The other one million is a grant from the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Multi-Donor Trust Fund.
