Law enforcement authorities are seeking the occupants of an aircraft that was initially seen circling the Bissaruni trail, some twelve miles East of Kwakwani, on Monday evening.
CANU said the Cessna 206 subsequently landed and was found completely burnt, without any drugs or bodies, suggesting that it was a deliberate landing and burning of evidence.
Meanwhile, another aircraft was seen flying over Southern Guyana on Monday.
Attempts were made by the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit and Police to intercept the aircraft, but it managed to land in neighbouring Suriname.
Surinamese officials were alerted, went to the site and seized more than 400 kilos of cocaine.
