Today marked the launch of community programming on Radio Essequibo 95.5 in Anna Regina, Region 2. The station previously functioned as a relay station for Voice of Guyana programming but has now been fully operationalized with capacity strengthened to produce and broadcast local content from the County.
The ribbon was cut by Minister of Public Affairs Kwame McCoy with remarks by Regional Chair Vilma DaSilva, REO Davenand Ramdatt and NCN Board Chair Raymon Cummings.NCN operates seven other regional radio stations within its national broadcasting network.
The Radio Essequibo 95.5 frequency was launched in November 2019 and the relay station commissioned in January 2020.
