POLICE JAILED FOR STEALING COLLEAGUES MONEY.

Twenty-eight-year-old police constable, Nelisha Mahaica has been sentenced to eight months behind bars after she pleaded guilty to four counts of simple larceny.

Mahaica, attached to the Mahaica Police Station appeared before Magistrate Alisha Goerge at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court.

The charges read that between June 30 and July Six, she withdrew from her colleague’s Republic Bank Account, 500,000 dollars in four transactions. 

Each charge carries an eight-month sentence amounting to 32 months.

However they will be running concurrently.

She was also made to repay the sum of 500,000 dollars.
