MARAD OUTLINES COVID PROTOCOLS FOR SPEEDBOAT SERVICES.

The Maritime Administration Department has instituted several measures to keep the travelling public safe, when utilizing the speedboat services.

MARAD says all passengers using boats must wear face masks and their hands sanitized before boarding.

In addition, lifejackets are to be sanitized after each trip and passengers’ transit areas on the Georgetown and Vreed-en-Hoop Stellings must be sanitized twice daily.

Over the past weekend MARAD installed portable handrails for use by persons embarking and disembarking the boats, and these are to be sanitized constantly.

MARAD has employed additional monitors at Georgetown and Vreed-en-Hoop to support the Associations’ monitors for compliance with these safety protocols.
