A man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of a Guyana Defense Force corporal at Good Hope, East Coast Demerara and the police are now on the hunt for three other suspects.
Chaves Mangal, 28, of Enterprise Gardens, East Coast Demerara was stabbed to his upper chest and arm by four men armed with knives and cutlasses.
The incident occurred at around 00:45h today.
Reports are that the suspects also attacked and stabbed two others – a guest at the wedding and the disc jockey (DJ) – who was also robbed of his laptop.
The injured soldier was rushed to a private medical institution where he died.
The other two injured are now receiving medical care at a hospital.
