FORMER PRESIDENT GRANGER CALLS FOR COI INTO FLOOD DISASTER.

Former President David Granger is calling on the Government to immediately convene an independent and impartial inquiry into the flood disaster.

Speaking during his weekly ‘Public Interest’ programme, the PNCR leader said the response to the disaster which affected many communities was slow.

Government has been helping flood-affected communities across the country, through the Civil Defence Commission, by providing shelter, food and sanitary supplies.

The National Drainage and Irrigation Authority is also making the necessary interventions to bring relief to affected residents and farmers.

The administration is awaiting the completion of a comprehensive flood impact assessment by the CDC and CDEMA, which will further guide the recovery efforts.
