FAO URGES GUYANA TO TAKE SERIOUS ACTION TO PROTECT ITS FOOD SYSTEMS.

While Guyana has a comparative advantage in the Caribbean given its position as one of the largest agricultural economy in the region, immediate actions need to be taken to protect its food systems.

Chief Economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization, Maximo Torero, made this appeal to stakeholders during a recent national high-level dialogue in preparation for the UN Food Systems Summit.
