Dr Ashni Singh, Senior Minister with responsibilities for finance under the Office of the President, has defended the PPP/C Government’s $1.65B allocation to Sports and development in the National budget.
Appearing on 94.1FM yesterday, Dr Singh pointed to his Government’s vision for sport and their aim of creating a better life for the country’s athletes, while allowing them to excel in their respective disciplines.
Developing state-of-the-art infrastructure in Regions 2, 6 and 10, along with providing assistance to athletes and coaches through the setting-up of a sports academy, were atop of the agenda listed for the country’s largest ever allocation for sports.
