President Irfaan Ali has welcomed Chile’s interest to establish economic and commercial linkages with Guyana. New Chilean Ambassador, Juan Manuel Vasquez, made the pledge when he presented his letters of credence to the Guyanese Head of State earlier today.
The New Chilean Ambassador said excellent relations between the two countries have resulted in numerous areas of cooperation. And he believes that with the development taking place in both countries, more opportunities are being created for new areas of cooperation.
In response, President Ali welcomes Chile’s interest here, noting that Guyana is on a path to enormous economic transformation and such partnership will propel development for the citizens of both countries.
Guyana and Chile established diplomatic relations on July 22, 1971.
