The Chief Justice has ordered the High Court Registrar to release the Statements of Poll and Statements of Recount submitted by Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield to the Police and the Director of Public Prosecutions as requested.
The DPP in its submission asserted that the documents will prove the defendants’ guilt in criminal offences and confirm that the defendants deliberately ignored the correct votes and made false declarations in furtherance of their conspiracy.
In her ruling, Acting Chief Justice Roxanne George ordered the registrar to provide certified copies of the documents within ten days of the order handed down.
The Chief Justice also denied an application by Lowenfield to intervene in the case noting that he has failed to prove that he can make a useful contribution.
Lowenfield and others including Region Four Returning Officer, Clairmont Mingo have been charged with misconduct in public office in relation to electoral fraud.
