An interagency task force comprising the Coast Guard, police and the maritime administration is probing the discovery of a boat offshore Guyana with at least one body on board.

Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn told NCN news the discovery was made around 15 hours today at about 120km offshore Guyana.

Both the Minister and the Guyana Defence Force have indicated that the number of bodies on the boat could not be confirmed at this time.The boat is being towed to shore by a tug, which made the discovery.
