As Guyana prepares to celebrate its 60th Independence anniversary, a major family-friendly event is in the works to bring children and families together in a fun and safe environment.

Play Land 2026—a collaboration between DACCO Guyana and Kids Fest 592—is set to deliver a full day of entertainment, creativity and family bonding when it takes over the Guyana National Stadium Tarmac on May 31.

Play Land 2026 will be held on Sunday, May 31, at the Guyana National Stadium Tarmac from 1 PM to 8 PM, promising a full day of fun, creativity, and family bonding.

Event organizers say while Play Land is designed with children in mind, the experience goes far beyond just young people, offering activities for the entire family.

According to Event Manager Natalya Thomas, the initiative is built on a foundation of inclusivity and safety.

“We are dedicated to creating secure, fully managed spaces where children can roam freely. Parents can breathe easy, and families can create lasting memories together,” she said.

Organizers note that the event will feature a wide range of attractions, including Bouncy Castles, trampolines, novelty games, go-kart racing, kids Fest Pageant, Kids spa, DIY Creative zone and the Squid Game Experience among other fun interactive activities.

The day will also feature a super concert and fest pageant designed for young people.

Co-founder, Herman Small added that the aim is to create a space for families to bond.

The purpose this year for Kidsfest is to ensure that children, not just children, families, have a reason to come out and a reason to engage in activities that will bond, give them a greater bond than they already have,” he said.

Early bird tickets for Play Land go on sale from Monday, April 13, with children’s tickets priced at $1,500 and adults at $2,500. Tickets will be available at all Mobil service stations, Royal Care Kids Spa on Quamina Street, as well as Salads and Lifestyles on Duncan Street.
