The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security has initiated a groundbreaking campaign aimed at empowering and mentoring men, fostering safe spaces, and promoting dialogue on life challenges.
Named the Brotherhood Operating Safe Spaces (BOSS) campaign, it underscores the importance of providing men with avenues to share experiences, discuss difficulties, and build connections.
Dr. Cona Husbands, Manager of the Sexual Crimes and Domestic Violence Policy Unit at the Ministry, emphasizes the need for men to have a supportive network, where they can engage with others, share stories, and feel secure.
The campaign aims to equip men from diverse backgrounds with effective communication skills to establish a secure support system within the male population.
Through targeted training sessions, the campaign seeks to prepare men of various professions, ages, and backgrounds to serve as mentors and guides for others.
Dr. Husbands outlines the topics covered in the training, including conflict resolution, anger management, and access to support services provided by the Ministry.
Individuals interested in participating in the BOSS campaign can find further information on the Ministry’s Facebook page.
This initiative represents a significant step forward in promoting mental health, fostering positive masculinity, and addressing social challenges within communities.
