Charles and Fletcher Lead West Indies A to Series Win Against Nepal

In a commanding display of batting prowess, West Indies secured a 28-run victory over Nepal in a thrilling encounter, with Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher emerging as the stars of the match.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, West Indies faced an early setback with the loss of opener Alick Athanaze for 5 runs.

However, Charles and Fletcher showcased resilience and skill, forming a formidable partnership that laid the foundation for their team’s imposing total.

Charles blazed his way to 58 runs from just 30 balls, including 6 sixes and 3 fours, while Fletcher exhibited his explosive batting style with a scintillating 84 runs from 54 deliveries, adorned with nine 4s and four 6s.

Their partnership, worth over a hundred runs, propelled West Indies to a commanding total of 209 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Despite a spirited effort from Nepal’s Rohit Paudel, who hammered an impressive 82 runs from 47 balls, Nepal fell short in their chase, eventually getting bowled out for 181 runs.

West Indies’ bowlers, led by Matthew Forde and Hayden Walsh Jr, put in a disciplined performance to restrict Nepal’s batting lineup.

With this victory, West Indies sealed the series lead 3-1, having also won the previous three matches after losing the series opener.

The final clash in the five-match T20 series is scheduled for Saturday at the same venue.
