A dominant performance from Davendra Latchman with the bat and outstanding bowling from Under-19 prospect Asraf Ali Budhoo led the Berbice Piranhas to a convincing 32-run victory over the Berbice Caimans in the latest round of the Guyana Cricket Board National T20 League at the Number 69 Ground in Berbice.
In their final group-stage match, the Piranhas posted a competitive total of 141/9 after being put in to bat.
Despite early setbacks as wickets fell consistently, Latchman anchored the innings with a blistering 48 off just 17 balls, including seven sixes.
His quick-fire knock was a crucial contribution to the team’s total.
The Caimans struggled during their chase, with regular wickets falling as the required rate climbed.
Sachin Singh fought hard for the Caimans, scoring 62 off 56 balls, but lacked support from the other end.
The Piranhas’ bowlers, led by Budhoo, who impressed with figures of 4/7 from his four overs, restricted the Caimans to 109/6, securing the win by 32 runs.
The match was part of the ongoing Guyana Cricket Board National T20 League, which is sponsored by BetCageSport and endorsed by the Government of Guyana.
