A night of steel jamboree, PanJam, is set to captivate attendees this Saturday, July 27, at Park Rayne in Rahaman’s Park.
PanJam is an event celebrating Caribbean music and culture, showcasing steel pan performances along with genres such as soca, dancehall, reggae, and calypso.
Founder Reon Miller expressed his excitement for the event, highlighting its focus on Caribbean musical heritage.
He emphasized the unique blend of genres that will contribute to an exhilarating atmosphere.
As social media buzzes about the upcoming jamboree, Miller provided a glimpse into the night’s lineup.
This year, Joshua Regrello, known as the Pan Man on social media, will be coming from Trinidad to deliver an exciting performance.
The highlight of the event is a pseudo clash between two large steel bands, the Guyana Police Force Steel Orchestra and the Parkside Steel Orchestra, set up side by side on different stages to compete tune for tune.
PanJam, which started six years ago, has become an eagerly anticipated annual event.
Miller shared with NCN News that due to increased demand, the event has moved to a larger venue this year. He noted that tickets are nearly sold out.
This year also sees the introduction of a VIP experience, catering to those who prefer a more convenient and exclusive event experience.
Miller acknowledged the overwhelming support from corporate Guyana in making the event possible.
Attendees can look forward to free merchandise, trivia games, and other giveaways.
