West Indies U-19 Women Level Series with Dominant Win Over USA

A superb bowling performance led the West Indies female U-19 team to a commanding victory over the USA in the second T20 match at the Frank Worrell Memorial Ground on Monday, leveling the series at 1-1.

The Windies girls showcased their cricketing skills with a strong performance in both batting and bowling, contrasting their performance in the first match of the series.

Opting to bat first, the USA team struggled against the West Indies bowlers, being dismissed for just 65 runs in 18.1 overs.

Sasha Vallabhaneni top-scored for the visitors with 20 runs, while wicketkeeper-batter Anika Kolan added 10 runs. No other batter reached double figures.

The West Indies’ bowling attack was spearheaded by Selena Ross, Kenika Cassar, and Guyanese Trisha Hardat, each claiming two wickets.

With only 65 runs required from 120 balls, the West Indies achieved the target comfortably in just 13.3 overs, with 39 balls to spare.

Middle-order batter Naijanni Cumberbatch scored 26 not out, and opener Asabi Callender contributed 20 runs to ensure a swift victory.

Adita Chudasama was the standout bowler for the USA, taking two wickets for 19 runs in 3.3 overs.

The West Indies have now tied the series 1-1, with the next match scheduled for Thursday, July 25, at the same venue, beginning at 10:00 hours.
