The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) recently concluded a rigorous two-day CPR training program at the Leisure In Hotel in New Amsterdam, successfully certifying 20 participants.

This initiative aims to bolster the ranks of first responders capable of swiftly handling health-related emergencies in the tourism sector, aligning with the increasing influx of tourists to the region.

Participants who completed the course expressed enthusiasm about applying their newfound skills to assist others in critical situations.

Chetnauth Persaud, Senior Training and Tourism Development Officer at the GTA, highlighted the growing demand for trained individuals capable of providing immediate assistance during medical emergencies within the tourism industry.
