by Josiah Williams

As Guyana prepares to host the Caribbean Investment Forum and the Cricket Carnival, local tourism and hospitality operators are being urged to effectively highlight the country’s cultural richness and service industry.

During a recent engagement, Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, emphasized the importance of showcasing Destination Guyana as tourist arrivals continue to rise.

She pledged government support for the hospitality sector, including training initiatives for new tour operators and collaborative efforts to improve regional signage.

Minister Walrond also committed to regular engagements with tourism operators to address concerns and provide policy updates.

Discussions included proposals for developing the Georgetown Cricket Club’s Cricket Museum into a significant tourism attraction.
