Bartica Secondary’s girls’ team showcased their dominance in the ExxonMobil Under-14 football tournament, securing a spot in the semifinals with a commanding performance at the Ministry of Education grounds over the weekend.
Facing off against Marian Academy, Bartica Secondary initially fell behind to an early goal by Ashley Walton in the second minute.
However, their response was swift and decisive, with Nerismar Williams equalizing in the 4th minute.
The Bartica team quickly asserted their superiority with goals from Kelys Williams, Vilerky Simon, and another from Nerismar Williams within the span of 13 minutes, establishing a commanding 4-1 lead by the 17th minute.
Maintaining their momentum, Bartica Secondary continued their scoring spree with Nerismar and Kelys Williams both completing hat-tricks by the 37th minute, sealing a resounding 7-1 victory.
In other matches, Waramuri Top secured their semifinal berth with a 7-0 win over Charity Secondary, while Santa Rosa Secondary triumphed 3-0 against Tucville.
President’s College displayed dominance with an 8-0 victory over New Amsterdam, also advancing to the semifinals.
For the boys’ category, Chase Academic Foundation, Dolphin Secondary, South Ruimveldt, and Leonora Secondary advanced to the semifinals.
The semifinal round of the ExxonMobil Under-14 football tournament is scheduled for the upcoming weekend at the Ministry of Education grounds.
