GDF Dominates Ann’s Grove in KFC Elite League Match

Defending champions Guyana Defense Force (GDF) showcased their prowess in a commanding victory over Ann’s Grove at the Guyana Football Federation, National Training Center.

Obumchi Benjamin swiftly opened the scoring for GDF with an impressive strike in the 11th minute, setting the tone for the match.

The soldiers extended their lead in the 39th minute through Kelsey Benjamin.

Colin Nelson added a third goal just before halftime, putting Ann’s Grove at a significant disadvantage.

Travis Williams managed to pull one back for Ann’s Grove United in the 72nd minute, briefly boosting their spirits.

However, Delroy Fraser promptly restored GDF’s dominance with another goal, sealing their 4-1 victory and solidifying their position at the top of the league standings.

Meanwhile, Berbice Monedderlust demonstrated resilience against Slingerz FC, securing a 2-2 draw.

Marcus Tudor initially put Slingerz in the lead in the 22nd minute, but Rayon Rose equalized for Monedderlust early in the second half.

Sheldon Holder later regained the lead for Slingerz in the 66th minute, only for Paul McDonald to equalize again for Monedderlust in the 76th minute.

Despite Slingerz’s efforts, including a missed penalty by Darren Niles, Monedderlust held on to secure the draw.

The league winners this year will receive a prize of 2 million dollars, with the runner-up earning 1.2 million dollars.
