In a significant declaration for Guyana’s burgeoning tourism sector, President Dr. Irfaan Ali has projected that by 2030, the country will emerge as a leader in diversified tourism products within the region.

The President’s remarks came during the observance of World Environment Day, where the EMC Foundation launched “The Visual Chronicles,” a coffee table book showcasing the biodiversity and pristine beauty of the Mahaica Wetlands and Mangroves.

Speaking at the launch event, President Ali emphasized Guyana’s commitment to climate change sustainability, paralleling the nation’s tourism sector’s trajectory.

He asserted that by 2030, Guyana’s tourism product would surpass any other in the region, citing the country’s infrastructure, marketing possibilities, branding, and educational initiatives as key factors driving this development.

President Ali further highlighted the significant economic and financial influence that tourism products wield for national development, underlining the pivotal role they play in driving economic growth and prosperity.
