Windies ‘Trusting the Process’ – Darren Sammy

By Travis Seymour

Head Coach of the West Indies cricket team, Darren Sammy, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance in their opening T20 World Cup game.

However, he emphasized the importance of taking it one game at a time and trusting the team’s method.

NCN sport captured the West Indies team during their practice session at the National Stadium Providence and had a chat with Sammy.

He mentioned that the team is at the stage they need to be at this point in their play.

Sammy highlighted the strength of the players on the bench as a positive sign for the competitiveness of the team, regardless of individual performance.

Despite facing criticism for including Roston Chase in the team, Sammy defended the decision, citing Chase’s maturity and responsibility in his role.

Chase played a crucial innings of 42 runs in the team’s opening game, helping them secure a victory against Papua New Guinea.

The Windies will face Uganda in their next game on Saturday at Providence.
