WCCIG and AmCham to Host Seminar for Entrepreneurs

The Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) is set to hold a seminar in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce – Guyana (AmCham) on Saturday, June 15.

This seminar aims to empower entrepreneurs by offering insights into proper business practices and addressing critical challenges they face.

Lisa Mohamed, Events Director at WCCIG, highlighted that the seminar is designed to provide valuable resources for business entrepreneurs, including access to finance.

Experts will be available for networking, providing guidance on investment strategies, asset identification, and communication with financial institutions.

Rowena Elliot, President of WCCIG, noted that the forum will focus on educating participants on preparing business proposals to secure financing.

She emphasized that the presence of financial institutions at the event will help demystify the process of interacting with banks, offering a more relaxed environment for entrepreneurs to ask questions and gain understanding.

Public Relations Officer Martina Johnson added that the seminar will address financial literacy, a crucial topic as Guyana’s business market expands, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

She pointed out that many people are looking to leverage their assets but lack the necessary knowledge.

This seminar aims to fill that gap, helping participants better navigate the changing business climate.

The seminar is open to all and will be held at the Guyana Marriott from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 15.

Tickets are available at the AmCham office on the ground floor of the Marriott, or by calling 231-2524.
