Over 100 junior teachers, recent graduates from the Cyril Potter College of Education, are currently undergoing a comprehensive two-day workshop at the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD).
The workshop aims to familiarize these educators with their primary roles, responsibilities, and guidelines within the education system.
Teachers from nearly all primary schools within the Georgetown Education District are participating in the training, which focuses on equipping them with essential skills for effective teaching practices, student interactions, parent engagement, and collaboration with colleagues.
Carleen Damon, one of the participating teachers, emphasized the necessity of the training in guiding educators towards the right conduct in their roles, ensuring professionalism and excellence in education delivery.
Deena Rampersaud echoed Damon’s sentiment, expressing confidence that the training will provide valuable insights and strategies for addressing the diverse needs of students and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Sherlyn Pantlintz highlighted the importance of adapting teaching practices to meet the demands of the 21st century, underscoring the significance of continuous professional development for educators.
