The excitement is building as the 2024 edition of the Milo Schools Football Championship enters the round of 16 stage, with only 16 teams remaining in contention.

The top teams emerging from the group stage include Chase Academy from Group A, Dolphin Secondary from Group B, West Ruimveldt Secondary from Group C, Ann’s Grove from Group D, Waramuri Primary from Group E, and South Ruimveldt also from Group E.

Action kicks off on Saturday with Leonora facing Bartica at 12:30 hours.

Both teams have demonstrated resilience, having suffered only one loss each on their journey to the knockout stage.

Following that, Bishops’ High, qualifying as a third-placed team in their group, will go head-to-head with defending champions Chase Academy at 14:30 hours.

Dolphin Secondary will then take on Queen’s College, while Group E winner South Ruimveldt will clash with East Ruimveldt, promising intense showdowns on the field.

Sunday’s matches include Essequibo side Abram Zuil, whose only loss came against Chase Academy, facing off against Ann’s Grove.

Subsequently, President’s College will battle Charlestown at 14:30 hours, providing another thrilling encounter for football enthusiasts.

Yarakabra will lock horns with Waramuri Primary Top, and North Ruimveldt will face West Ruimveldt, rounding out the action-packed weekend of football.

With the stakes raised and the competition heating up, fans can expect a series of electrifying matches as these talented teams vie for supremacy in the Milo Schools Football Championship.
