In a showdown at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center, Santos FC secured their second victory of the KFC Elite League Season 6 with a hard-fought triumph over Buxton United FC.
The match, which unfolded on Thursday evening, pitted Santos against the winless Buxton United in the lone clash of the day.
The initial 40 minutes of play remained scoreless as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.
However, in the 41st minute, Michael Oie seized an opportunity and converted it into a goal, giving Santos the lead.
Buoyed by Oie’s strike, Santos continued to press forward, ultimately sealing their victory with a final score of 2-0.
As Season 6 of the league progresses, the action will heat up further with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.
Ann’s Grove will face off against Den Amstel at 18:30, followed by Fruta Conquerors taking on Monedderlust in the featured clash.
