The Minister of Public Works Bishop Juan Edghill has visited the site for the construction of a bridge across the Corentyne River linking Guyana with Suriname.
Minster Edghill told NCN News during this morning’s visit that $100M has already been budgeted for the preparatory works on the access road from Moleson Creek to El Dorado Village where the bridge will be built. According to the Public Works Minister, the road will also provide access to additional farmlands to the riverine community of Orealla.
“We have to get the road properly design and the first thing we will have to address is the drainage system. There are two drains at the side of the road we have to decide if we keep both because the road is also narrow and for you to build a road you have to get shoulders to keep the road together” said the Minister.
