An inmate of the Mazaruni Prison has died from Covid-19 related complications.

Health Minister, Dr. Frank Anthony says the individual had underlying health conditions.Acting Director of Prisons, Nicklon Elliot told NCN News that the inmate was in a cell by himself.

He said measures are in place to test and isolate prisoners who exhibit symptoms of the virus.
