ESSEQUIBO BUSINESSMAN SHOT DEAD DURING ANTI-CRIME SEARCH

Police say 29 year old Orin Boston was shot to his upper left arm during an anti-crime search operation conducted at his Dartmouth, Essequibo home at about 4am.The force said during the search, there was a confrontation between Boston and the police resulting in him being shot to his upper left arm after which he was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Acting Commissioner of Police Nigel Hoppie has instructed that the Police Office of Professional Responsibility commence a thorough investigation into the matter. The force is also calling on citizens who have commenced burning tyres and other debris on the main roadway at Dartmouth in protest to desist from this activity and allow for due process to take its course with the investigations.
