Young entrepreneurs are gearing up for a promising opportunity to showcase their businesses at the upcoming “Youths in Business” Expo, slated for August 6.
The event is being organized by Leanna Cummings, a local business owner, and her dedicated team.
As the coordinator of the expo, Leanna Cummings shared with NCN Guyana that the inspiration for this event comes from their own journey as business owners, including the challenges they faced during their start-up ventures. With a desire to support and uplift others facing similar hurdles, their primary goal for the expo is to provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to thrive.
As part of the expo, information forms among other prerequisites will be readily available to ensure businesses are compliant.
Meanwhile, participating businesses shared with NCN Guyana their expectations of the expo.
“I’m looking forward to the information about how to be legal in the field because most persons would have businesses, but it is not registered, so I’m grateful for the information that will be given to us,” Ayodele Cameron said.
Tilley Atwell, another owner of a participating business also noted that “This is actually a big step forward for me, so I see this as an advantage to showcase my business and get more clientele and grow in the near future.”
The expo is scheduled for the Theatre Guild on Parade Street and is expected to begin at 10:00hrs.
Over 25 businesses are expected to showcase their products and services ranging from fashion to art, among others.
