The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has inaugurated the first youth-friendly facility in Region Ten, the Youth Vibe Space, located at Block 22, Linden.
The facility, officially opened on Monday by Human Services Minister Dr. Vindhya Persaud, is designed to provide a creative and empowering environment for young people.
The space is intended to foster personal growth, creativity, and mentorship opportunities.
The Youth Vibe Space will serve as a hub for various activities, including homework assistance, computer access, and skills development programs under the Youth Resilience, Inclusion, and Empowerment (YRIE) initiative.
The facility aims to prepare young people to become positively contributing adults within their communities.
Youth advocate Stephen Francis will oversee the operations of the center, which is open to all young people in the Linden community.
UNFPA’s contribution to the initiative included donations of sports equipment, games, furniture, stationery, and books.
Plans are also underway to expand the space into a fully equipped library, further enhancing its role in promoting learning and creativity.
This innovative initiative reflects the government and UNFPA’s commitment to empowering youth and creating opportunities for their development in Region Ten.
