{"id":32971,"date":"2026-11-06T19:22:43","date_gmt":"2026-11-06T23:22:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=32971"},"modified":"2026-11-06T19:22:43","modified_gmt":"2026-11-06T23:22:43","slug":"region-ten-unveils-tourism-awareness-month-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/region-ten-unveils-tourism-awareness-month-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Region Ten unveils tourism awareness month activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Region Ten Tourism Committee has announced a series of activities for Tourism Awareness Month in November, aimed at promoting the region\u2019s attractions, preserving its heritage and encouraging community participation.&nbsp;Committee President Lawrence Simon outlined the plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/image-41-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32972\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/image-41-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/image-41-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/image-41-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/11\/image-41.png 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The theme celebrates the region\u2019s rich bauxite mining history while highlighting opportunities for tourism development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The month-long observance begins November 1 with an environmental clean-up at Kara&nbsp;Kara&nbsp;Blue Lake and an Adventure Family Quest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other highlights include a business mixer, stakeholder consultations and training sessions facilitated by the&nbsp;Guyana Tourism Authority and Small Business Bureau to strengthen the capacity of local tourism operators and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special emphasis will also be placed on youth involvement through school outreaches aimed at establishing tourism clubs and developing young tourism ambassadors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThey will be conducting a youth\u00a0outreach\u00a0program visiting all secondary\u00a0schools.
