Prosecutor Terrence Williams has asked Chief Magistrate Judy Latchman to revoke the bail granted to Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed, citing alleged threats and intimidation against senior police officer Prem Narine, a key witness in the ongoing extradition proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application was made on Monday when the matter resumed, with Williams raising concerns about two incidents allegedly involving Mohamed and members of his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams told the court that Mohamed and two other men allegedly visited Narine\u2019s Kitty residence, where shots were fired. Narine reportedly returned fire at their vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohamed was subsequently detained, and police allegedly discovered an unlicensed Taurus pistol and ammunition in the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prosecutor further alleged that Mohamed\u2019s father, Nazar Mohamed, threatened Narine at the Kitty Police Station, while his sister, Hana Khameilia Mohamed, confronted the officer and struck his vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams also referenced a separate case in which Mohamed and police officer Ryan Greene were remanded to prison over allegations involving the unlawful extraction of surveillance footage connected to the earlier incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He argued that the alleged conduct raised serious concerns about witness intimidation and interference with the administration of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Narine fears for his life<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking the witness stand, Narine told the court that he feared for his safety and was now forced to seek protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He alleged that Hana Khameilia Mohamed threatened him outside the courthouse on Monday, telling him, \u201cYou will have to hide for the rest of your life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Narine also claimed that both Hana and Azruddin had publicly labelled him a murderer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He appealed directly to the Chief Magistrate for protection, insisting that he felt seriously threatened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams subsequently urged the court to revoke Azruddin Mohamed\u2019s bail, caution Nazar Mohamed and ensure that Hana does not interfere with the proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the morning session, Chief Magistrate Latchman issued a body order requiring Azruddin Mohamed to appear personally before the court. He was subsequently brought before the magistrate in handcuffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extradition proceedings are continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
