{"id":32674,"date":"2026-10-23T08:24:21","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T12:24:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=32674"},"modified":"2026-10-23T08:24:21","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T12:24:21","slug":"ramson-urges-greater-private-sector-investment-in-mashramani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/ramson-urges-greater-private-sector-investment-in-mashramani\/","title":{"rendered":"Ramson urges greater private sector investment in Mashramani"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Jordan Alkins <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr. is calling on major private sector companies to play a greater role in financing Mashramani, saying the government cannot be expected to shoulder the cost of the national celebration alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the recent launch of the 2027 Mashramani calendar, Minister Ramson expressed frustration over what he described as inadequate corporate support for the event, despite its continued growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He revealed that government invested more than $200 million in Mashramani bands last year alone, as part of efforts to expand participation and strengthen the country\u2019s premier cultural celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the Minister questioned why some of Guyana\u2019s most profitable companies have not made similar commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou\u2019re making money in this country, all of the companies\u2026 the publicly traded companies, you have to disclose all of your balance sheets, all of your statements.
