Residents of Berbice are welcoming the transformation of Number 63 Beach into a modern recreational park, offering families a safe and inviting space for relaxation and entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed under First Lady Arya Ali\u2019s beautification initiative, the facility features several amenities and is expected to create new economic opportunities for surrounding communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once known for its watermelon farms and modest recreational facilities, Number 63 Beach has undergone a major transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly developed park now features a children’s play area, gazebos, washrooms, walking paths, seating areas, lighting and canteens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residents have welcomed the investment, describing it as a significant improvement that will benefit families and visitors for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Denica Henry shared, \u201cThis facility will be used by thousands or actually millions of persons for the many years to come, both Guyanese and visitors from abroad. I do hope that Guyanese and citizens or anyone that\u2019s using this facility really appreciates the hard work that the team and the Government of Guyana has put in to making this space possible.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another resident, Birman Kissoon, said, \u201cWell, before the process started we did not envision this in any way possible that this would\u2019ve been the end results. I am so pleased today to stand here as a proud citizen of the community and as a citizen of Guyana to know that we can benefit.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Lady Arya Ali says the investment will open doors for vendors, entrepreneurs and small businesses, allowing surrounding communities to benefit directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dI hope this will also create new opportunities for local vendors, small businesses and entrepreneurs, allowing the benefits from this investment to extend beyond recreation and into the livelihood of families in surrounding communities,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Number 63 Beach Park is the 18th and largest recreational facility developed under the national initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was executed through collaboration among the government, the Ministry of Public Works, the Regional Democratic Council, contractors and community stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
