{"id":31802,"date":"2026-09-07T19:15:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T23:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31802"},"modified":"2026-09-07T19:15:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T23:15:08","slug":"berbice-fisherman-fatally-stabbed-by-friend-during-altercation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/berbice-fisherman-fatally-stabbed-by-friend-during-altercation\/","title":{"rendered":"Berbice fisherman fatally\u00a0stabbed by friend during altercation\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>-Suspect in custody<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kyler Rollins <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A&nbsp;friendly hang on Sunday evening turned deadly after a 34-year-old fisherman of Glasgow Housing Scheme, Berbice, tragically lost his life during an altercation with a fellow fisherman&nbsp;at Albion Front, Corentyne.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dead man\u2019s 30-year-old wife has been left devastated by the incident and hopes for&nbsp;a&nbsp;thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding her husband\u2019s&nbsp;demise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deceased has been identified as Franklyn Sauers, called \u2018Franky\u2019, of Glasgow Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice, who was allegedly stabbed&nbsp;several times&nbsp;by a fellow fisherman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police said that on the night in question,&nbsp;the suspect was at his&nbsp;Albion Front&nbsp;residence when Sauers reportedly entered the house, during which an altercation ensued.&nbsp;<br><br>Police ranks subsequently responded to the location, where Sauers&nbsp;was found lying motionless in the living room with apparent stab wounds to his neck and left rib area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where he was examined by a doctor who pronounced him dead.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His wife, 30-year-old Verone Sehadeo\u00a0shared that after she received the news about the incident, she quickly\u00a0went\u00a0to the location where she made the gruesome discovery. \u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>I take my son and we ride and when I go I see my husband car park in front of the house. It was still on. I drop the bike on the parapet and\u00a0I rush inside and when I rush inside there was a guy sitting in front on the concrete and I seh shortman way Franky, way Franky.
