{"id":31745,"date":"2026-09-02T19:34:23","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T23:34:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31745"},"modified":"2026-09-02T19:34:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T23:34:23","slug":"work-advancing-on-corentyne-highway-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/work-advancing-on-corentyne-highway-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"Work advancing on Corentyne Highway expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kyler Rollins <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Palmyra to Moleson Creek road expansion project is moving apace, with asphalt already being laid along sections of the roadway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This update from Member&nbsp;of Parliament Zamal Hussain,&nbsp;also highlights&nbsp;several other key developments and ongoing works associated with the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lot two of the project was recently inspected by Minister within the Ministry of Public Works&nbsp;Mandanlall Ramraj, where a 200-metre asphalt trial section was completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trial section measures 7.5 metres in width and features a 70-millimetre levelling course. It is expected to undergo testing before full-scale paving begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MP Hussain told NCN News that with these latest developments on the project, work on the highway is progressing well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>As you can see, the middle section, the first asphalt was laid.\u00a0Couple days ago\u00a0Minister Ramraj was on the project to ensure that the finishing materials is being placed on part of the surface in the Corentyne highway.\u00a0I think we are moving in a good pace. We\u2019ve start the other sections, which is the Palmyra area. We are working there. The contractor is mobilized and already working<\/strong>,\u201d he said. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To address traffic bottlenecks in Rose Hall Town and Corriverton, bypass roads are being constructed from Albion to Whim and from No. 75 Village to Line Path, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MP said these connections will significantly reduce traffic congestion in the two bustling areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>We start the bypass in the Albion area and also in the Line Path area. So rest assured that the work is on track and we are working to ensure that we meet the deadline.
