{"id":31739,"date":"2026-09-02T19:31:50","date_gmt":"2026-09-02T23:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31739"},"modified":"2026-09-02T19:31:50","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T23:31:50","slug":"linden-residents-welcome-development-by-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/linden-residents-welcome-development-by-govt\/","title":{"rendered":"Linden residents welcome development by Gov\u2019t"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kimberly Giddings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of Linden\u00a0have\u00a0welcomed President Irfaan Ali and his Cabinet\u00a0currently on a\u00a0two-day outreach in the region, meeting with residents and listening to their concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In interviews, the&nbsp;residents&nbsp;pointed to&nbsp;the development taking place in the region since the government took office.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief among the&nbsp;improvements&nbsp;is&nbsp;the ongoing infrastructure work, particularly the rehabilitation and upgrading of roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents say these&nbsp;have&nbsp;improved access and made transportation easier for communities in Linden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deshawna Dest said, \u201c<strong>Infrastructure has been a big\u00a0thumbs\u00a0up because I\u2019ve seen tremendous development right here in my community. As you know we have asphaltic roads, were also have concrete roads in this community and I would like to see much more development here.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Melinda Fredericks told NCN, \u201c<strong>One of the recent developments are the roads, we have all the internal roads being done and we are expecting to have the external 2 kilometers \u00a0as the president promised us today.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, remigrant and Linden resident Abraham Griffith reflected on how much the mining town has changed since he left Guyana more than 60 years ago to live abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Griffith praised President Irfaan&nbsp;Ali for his work and commitment to the people of Region Ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several ministers of government, including&nbsp;Prime Minister&nbsp;Mark&nbsp;Phillips,&nbsp;are currently in region 10 engaging with residents and finding solutions to their concerns raised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere are going to be naysayers, but you don\u2019t bother with those naysayers, you just proceed and do what is effective for the people and when you do that you are blessed because you have wisdom, god give you wisdom, utilize the wisdom and god will bless you and your administration all the time,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;day&nbsp;cabinet outreach continues tomorrowThursday, September 3.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-by Kimberly Giddings Residents of Linden\u00a0have\u00a0welcomed President Irfaan Ali and his Cabinet\u00a0currently on a\u00a0two-day outreach in the region, meeting with residents and listening to their concerns.
