{"id":31303,"date":"2026-08-08T18:57:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-08T22:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31303"},"modified":"2026-08-08T18:57:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-08T22:57:58","slug":"drainage-and-roads-among-major-works-planned-for-bath-settlement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/drainage-and-roads-among-major-works-planned-for-bath-settlement\/","title":{"rendered":"Drainage and Roads among major works planned for Bath Settlement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bath Settlement is set for major infrastructure and community upgrades under the Government\u2019s Model Village Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Dr. Irfaan Ali says the project will also create new opportunities in agriculture, business and employment while improving safety and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Major drainage and road improvement works are planned for Bath Settlement as part of the Model Village Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Dr. Irfaan Ali said the project will target infrastructure, drainage, bridges, street lighting and utility services across the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The planned works include road rehabilitation, drain construction, bridge upgrades and improved pedestrian access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative will also focus on creating green spaces and enhancing the overall appearance of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;And the entirety of the works will include road rehabilitation, drain construction, bridge upgrade and rehab, the relocation and assessment of utility poles, and I think most importantly, visual enhancement of our community&#8221; said the Director of Government Efficiency and Implementation, Nigel Dharamlall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bath Settlement is expected to receive 55 fire hydrants as part of the infrastructure improvements planned under the Model Village Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will also include CCTV camera coverage across the community to enhance security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of Bath Settlement are being urged to play their part in maintaining the improvements planned under the Model Village Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<strong><em>CCTV camera coverage. So, the entire area will have a CCTV camera coverage to help with the security. And in certain critical areas, we are encouraging what we call community watch<\/em><\/strong>,&#8221; President Ali said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of Bath Settlement are also expected to benefit from new economic opportunities under the Model Village Initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prsident Ali said the programme will focus on economic empowerment, jobs, agriculture and the development of agro-processing activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He proposed the creation of clusters for young people, including large hydroponics facilities, to boost production and reduce vulnerability to weather-related challenges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bath Settlement is set for major infrastructure and community upgrades under the Government\u2019s Model Village Initiative.
