{"id":31244,"date":"2026-08-04T18:45:40","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T22:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31244"},"modified":"2026-08-04T18:45:40","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T22:45:40","slug":"chevron-highlights-guyanas-exploration-potential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/chevron-highlights-guyanas-exploration-potential\/","title":{"rendered":"Chevron highlights Guyana\u2019s exploration potential"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>-as key to its future growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by David Clarke<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oil Major- Chevron, which only last year spent $53 billion on acquiring of Hess Corporation and its stake in the Stabroek Block, has described the exploration potential of Guyana&#8217;s offshore oil sector, as a key driver of its future growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guyana&#8217;s offshore oil industry continues to strengthen its position on the global stage, with U.S. energy giant Chevron reaffirming the country&#8217;s importance to its long-term growth strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During its second-quarter earnings call with investors, the company described Guyana as a world-class asset whose vast oil resources are expected to support high-margin production well into the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chevron said the acquisition of Hess has further strengthened its portfolio, with Guyana already generating significant free cash flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Guyana is a world-class asset with significant resource depth that is expected to extend high-margin oil growth into the 2030s,&#8221; Chairman and CEO, Mike Wirth said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Company executive also highlighted the value of additional exploration opportunities in Guyana\u2019s Stabroek Block.
