{"id":31229,"date":"2026-08-03T19:44:20","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T23:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31229"},"modified":"2026-08-03T19:44:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T23:44:20","slug":"president-ali-announces-modern-community-market-for-tuschen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/president-ali-announces-modern-community-market-for-tuschen\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ali announces modern community market for Tuschen"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-under Model Village Initiative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, are set to benefit from a modern community market as part of the Government&#8217;s Model Village Initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Dr. Irfaan Ali described the project as a key investment in supporting small businesses, improving community infrastructure and strengthening local food production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement was made on Monday during the third public consultation on the initiative, held at the Tuschen Secondary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing residents, President Ali said the proposed market forms part of a broader vision to transform communities in ways that extend beyond physical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s about a transformation of every citizen&#8217;s life. It is about creating a community where there is trust, where there is faith, where there is love, where there is opportunity and where there is a better quality of life.&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>the president said. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/765849600_1595186365308245_4421796396007986268_n-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/765849600_1595186365308245_4421796396007986268_n-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/765849600_1595186365308245_4421796396007986268_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/765849600_1595186365308245_4421796396007986268_n-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/765849600_1595186365308245_4421796396007986268_n.jpg 1152w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">President Dr. Irfaan Ali<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He explained that the market is intended to provide a dedicated, clean and organised space for vendors while creating greater opportunities for entrepreneurship within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>&#8220;We want to build a proper market where all of those who are selling along the roadside can come together in one safe, clean and modern environment,&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>President Ali told residents, noting that the facility would improve conditions for vendors while making it easier for consumers to access fresh produce and other goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The President added that the initiative will also support greater food production by exploring financing opportunities and modern agricultural technologies to help communities become more productive and economically resilient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He underscored that residents will play a central role in shaping the project through the consultation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>&#8220;We are here to consult with you. We are here to listen to you because this is your community,&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>he said, adding that residents&#8217; feedback will help refine the plans before implementation begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tuschen is among the first communities selected for the pilot phase of the Model Village Initiative, which the Government intends to replicate in villages across Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-under Model Village Initiative Residents of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, are set to benefit from a modern community market as part of the Government&#8217;s Model Village Initiative.
