{"id":31147,"date":"2026-07-29T19:35:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-29T23:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=31147"},"modified":"2026-07-29T19:35:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-29T23:35:10","slug":"mv-barima-chief-engineer-laid-to-rest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/mv-barima-chief-engineer-laid-to-rest\/","title":{"rendered":"MV Barima Chief Engineer laid to rest"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kyler Rollins<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Government Ministers and other officials gathered in New Amsterdam, Berbice, earlier today to pay their final respects as the Chief Engineer of the ill-fated MV Barima was laid to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His body was wheeled into The Wesleyan Church in a solemn procession led by family members, friends, and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many, including Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<strong>To lose someone<\/strong> <strong>we love is always painful but to lose them so suddenly is more painful.
