As Guyana observes three days of national mourning following the MV Barima tragedy, vigils were held across the country to honour the victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Dr. Irfaan Ali acknowledged all those who came together to remember those who lost their lives and those who remain missing following the MV Barima tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAcross Guyana, communities came together in candlelit vigils, united in grief, prayer, and solidarity, honouring the victims while offering strength and support to their families, as well as the survivors,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>the President said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was the Interfaith National Prayer Service at the Kingston Seawall on Wednesday evening, where Ministers of government, members of the diplomatic corps, and other senior officials were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Regional Police Division Six hosted a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gathering brought together police officers, stakeholders and members of the community to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy, while offering prayers and expressing hope for the safe return of those who remain missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Observances were also held in Charity, Region Two, with scores of residents gathering for a Candlelight Vigil Walk and Prayer Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kato, Region 8, also held a candlelight vigil of their own, honouring the fallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
